Operation Christmas Child
Oct

to Nov 24

Operation Christmas Child

Pick up your shoebox in the foyer at VBC starting October 5!

Then what?

SHOP til you drop! Then personalize your shoebox so each child feels unique and special. Consider including a note telling them how special they are to God and you. Don’t know what to say? Then simply write on the inside of the lid to the box, YOU ARE SPECIAL!!! in big, bright letters.  You might also include a photo of yourself, family or even your pets. But don’t forget the most important gift of all, PRAYER. As you pack your shoebox, pray for the child who will receive it.

Hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ can change a child’s life-now and for eternity! Through your shoebox, children in need will hear, see, and feel how much Jesus loves them. Let’s join churches from around the world as we send great joy and THE Good News!

On shoebox distribution day, trained volunteers hand each over-the-top excited child their box filled with fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items plus their own Greatest Gift booklet. This booklet is written in their own language and includes Scripture passages and the salvation message.

After that most wonderful of all days, the children are invited to enroll in a 12-lesson discipleship program called The Greatest Journey. As they learn more about the Greatest Gift, they are taught how to share their faith with family and friends. Once lessons are completed, they toss their hats in the air at their graduation ceremony, and each receive a New Testament in their own language. In 2023, over 2.7 million children reported making decisions for Christ while attending The Greatest Journey program.

NOTE:

Girls aged 5-9 &

Boys aged 2-4 &10-14 receive the least number of shoeboxes.
