Nominated for 5 Academy Awards, directed by John Huston, and starring Humphrey Bogart, Katherine Hepburn, and Robert Morley, this adventure film tells the story of a rough, coarse owner and captain of a small steamboat, which delivers supplies and mail along a river in German East Africa in 1914.  When World War 1 breaks out, he rescues a female, British missionary (Hepburn) and they decide to fight the Germans on their own.
