This 2016 biographical war film, directed by Mel Gibson, tells the true story of Desmond Doss, a committed Christian who refused to use a weapon of any kind, and instead became a combat medic.  He became the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Hone for his heroic service during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II.
