Village Bible Church (VBC) will be joining Students International (SI) by sending members and Christian friends on a short term mission trip to Costa Rica.  The missionaries will be working with full-time staff members in the areas of Boys & Girls Club, Woodworking & Creative Arts, Sports, Micro-Enterprise which includes crafts, sewing and cooking classes, Community & Environmental Health, Creative Arts Workshop, Education/Tutoring, and Sports.

The VBC members will be housed with a host families. They will depart from the U.S. on September 28 and return on October 6th.  Total cost is approximately $1,300.00 to $1,500.00. The VBC members must have a valid passport, which typically takes around 6 to 8 weeks to obtain.  Passports can be obtained in 3 weeks at a slightly higher cost. There are 15 slots available for this trip. The deadline for registration is July 22 with half the cost due by July 26th.  A $100.00 deposit is required soon after sign-up.

SI does long-term, on-going community development in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Nicaragua through the full-time staff missionaries serving in those countries. In addition, outreach participants join the staff missionaries on short-term or semester programs throughout the year.

SI’s Occupational Ministry Sites are locations where we do occupationally specific ministry that correlates with career, academic, or person interests of the participant.  By working alongside our full-time missionary staff in these focused environments – such as dentistry, agriculture, and micro-finance – our short-term participants are able to come together cross-culturally to encounter God, share the Good News, disciple and serve the poor.

Costa Rica is a beautiful Central American country known for its rich agricultural land, beautiful beaches and lush tropical rain forests. SI's ministry in Costa Rica is located in the southern part of the capital city, San Jose, in several communities in and around Desamparados. Students International's ministry in Costa Rica began in 2008, and has continued to reach the people of the community as they start new ministry sites and find tangible ways to meet needs.
