About our Guest Speaker
Dr. Rick Thompson, EFCA Superintendent Great Lakes District
Rick and Jan Thompson met at Wheaton Graduate School and their first year of marriage was on campus at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Today, their oldest son, David and his wife Beth, serve with Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC. David is the International Director of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child ministry. Beth is on SP's Heart Project staff. Their second son, Derick, is married to Michelle, and is the CEO of his own internet company Startup Runner. Their youngest, Tiffany, lives in NYC and works as a tentmaker with a non-profit as she pursues being a singer songwriter (tiffanythompsonmusic.com). After thirteen years serving the Hope Evangelical Free Church of Dubuque, Iowa, God called them to Moscow, Russia from 1992-1997 as the EFCM Eurasia Director and a senior pastor of Moscow Bible Church. Rick served as the district superintendent in Texas from 1997-2004 and now with the Great Lakes District since April of 2004. Jan served on the staff of two large churches to develop volunteer teams (Austin, Texas and Naperville, IL). She leads spiritual life retreats that connect people to the Lord and each other and seminars on various aspects of ministry.
The men of Village Bible Church are excited to include an invitation to the women to join them for this year’s retreat in the evening. You will hear from Jan Thompson, author of Rooted Women of Valor and her husband, Rick, our conference speaker. There is no fee for the ladies to join in Saturday evening. Please encourage your husbands to attend the full event and join them on Saturday evening.

(Fee includes coffee & rolls in the morning.)
